DR. Perzavia T. PRAYLOW

The Rev. Perzavia T. Praylow, Ph.D.
Rev. Dr. Perzavia Praylow is an minister of Word and Sacrament ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Dr. Praylow is a preacher, lecturer, theological educator, scholar, spiritual director, consultant and an empowerment coach for leaders and organizations endeavoring to flourish in life and service to others. She is passionate about encouraging, equipping and empowering others as they endeavor to answer their call to serve God.
She is currently the Director of Black Church Studies and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at Louisville Seminary where she teaches courses in Black Church Studies and Practical Theology. Dr. Praylow’s research focuses on 20th Century race relations, American religious history, African American social equality, and the history of education.
Dr. Praylow is the founder of Dr. Praylow Speaks and Abounding Well Coaching and Consulting. Dr. Praylow Speaks is the organization and platform through which Dr. Praylow lectures and preaches nationally and globally. Abounding Well is a coaching and consulting practice through which Dr. Praylow provides a range of services including individual and group spiritual direction; empowerment and leader coaching for individuals and groups; spiritual and wellness workshops; and ministry and organizational consulting among other services.
Besides her ministry and service as a professional speaker, scholar, coach and theological educator, Dr. Praylow pastorally serves by convening Christian believers online through study in God's Word, prayer and in virtual worship gatherings through Abounding Hope United Center - a virtual community of disciples who gather together weekly to nourish their faith and to live lives of service empowered through transformative hope in Jesus Christ.
Dr. Praylow earned a PhD in American History, a MA in Education Policy and a MA in History all from the University of Illinois (Urbana, IL), a MDiv at Columbia Theological Seminary (GA), a Master of Sacred Theology at Lutheran Theology Southern Seminary (SC), and a BA in History at Drew University (NJ).
Dr. Praylow is passionate about preaching, teaching, research, mentoring, coaching and equipping leaders and congregations to serve God. Her ministry is fueled by this assurance from the word of God: “may the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing, so that together we may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).
